Why no one is talking about this film!?
On Wednesday, we kicked things off with the triumphant return of AJ and his review on the relatively unknown crime drama Good Time directed by the Safdie brothers and starring a non-sparkly Robert Pattinson. From the picture AJ paints it sounds like we have a contender for film of the year (with Baby Driver the one to beat), see what I mean HERE.
Like with The Godfather, the second Annabelle is better than the first.
The Conjuring franchise has become massive over the last few years, to the point that the hype surrounding Annabelle: Creation was immense, so to get to the bottom of it, Matthew shares his thoughts of the latest offering from everyone’s favourite demonic doll, check it out HERE.
Ready to go Retro?

So it's been just under a week since Game of Thrones wrapped up season 7 and what a way to finish! Undead, betrayal, incest and of course that fucking Wight Dragon. Sad news is we now have a bloody long wait for our next fix, as in late 2018 at the earliest since production has only just begun recently. The upside is all 6 episodes will be close to 90 minutes so we are getting bang for our buck. If you have interesting theories of what might happen let us know in the Ronon’s Reviews group.
What an excellent day for another exorcism.
Good news for those of you who loved last year’s The Exorcist series, season two is just around the corner with a release date of the 11th of October. This crept up on us here, with Mags only telling me this mid-week. After trawling the nets for a while I could confirm it is true and what we reported earlier this year is bang on the money, that the Rance family will be left alone this time with our two heroic priests on a road trip hunting evil before finding it in Seattle. With this and The Walking Dead, October can’t come quick enough.
Do you remember Creep? The little indie found footage horror flick that was received with open arms by all of us in 2014? Well, it's getting a sequel, and to be precise it will be part two of what is going to be a trilogy. The concept is pretty much the same: a girl is lured in the desolated cabin in the woods and from the moment she sets her foot there I bet that is gonna be a weird ass rollercoaster of weird ass shit happening left, right and centre. Creep 2 is once again directed by Patrick Brice and written by Brice and Mark Duplass AKA 'The Creep' and will be released through video on demand on October 24, 2017 and will hit Netflix later (hopefully not too late) in the year.

Okaerinasai Takashi Miike!
Takashi Miike sneaked up on us with his latest movie, Blade of the Immortal (original title Mugen No Jûnin), that I never even knew it was a thing until the other day. The film that of course is going to be a gore fest, is based on the anime that is based on the manga by the same name. It was released in Japan back in April and didn't get really a warm welcome... I don't know why, because the story sounds awesome: Manji is a samurai that got cursed with immortality and is on a quest to kill 1000 evil men to become mortal again. I guess we can find out ourselves if this flick is as badass as it sounds when it's out for us westerners in November at selected cinemas.
Earlier this year we reported that the upcoming and fucking hilariously titled South Park The Fractured But Whole was originally meant to come out in March, but was pushed back since the creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are perfectionists and weren’t happy with the result. The game popped into my head the other day so I looked it up to see how it was coming along and I was shocked to find out it now has a release date and it's soon, very soon. From the 17th of October onwards we will be able to join the kids from that small Colorado town and help bring an end to their devastating comic hero civil war, personally I’m going to have to side with The Coon.
Do you wanna play?
Our friend Stefanie Snider’s new book Little Games is out now! If you like horror novels à la Stephen King, I promise, you will enjoy her stuff. Her writing is enticing and her stories are creepy. Here’s what Little Games is about: ‘Writer Johnny Marcato works hard for his little family. He would do anything to give his beautiful wife Margaret the life she deserves: even if it means penning embarrassing romance novels for a living. Still, every marriage has its secrets… When Margaret stumbles across her husband’s latest work – gritty, violent and a little too close to home – she mistakes it for a real-life murder plot. One with her as its bloody victim.’
…enough with the teasing, just go buy her book HERE, support an independent writer!
