Mags Takeover!... at least for the most part.
I have to give props to Mags this week, she has for the most part run this site single handedly. I've been busy sorting out my Visa and only really had time to help out with the final checks before we schedule our posts. She has even written this awesome Roundup, so a quick round of applause and let's get stuck in.
Matthew was super excited about Quit Staring At My Plate when he found out it's a Croatian film and after he had to review it, because it's freaking awesome and the whole world needs to take notice. Haven't had the time to check it out yet but it's definitely on my 'To Watch' list after reading why he enjoyed it so much.
See why you should give it a look too HERE.
MGK is in Bloom.
Machine Gun Kelly new album Bloom got the Double R OG looking forward to the record... Unfortunately MGK didn't take the direction Norman was hoping for. He isn't totally disappointed but he's not pleased either.
See what he thinks (I promise you he make much more sense than me) HERE.
Baskin left me and Dan scratching our heads during the movie and also when it was over. That doesn't take anything away from the fact that is a great independent film that deserves all the praise it gets.
See my full review HERE.
Man I used to love Lil Wayne back in the days, but I have to admit I haven’t heard any of his latest albums/ tapes mainly because when he features in other people’s tracks he’s not fire as he used to, so I don’t know how to feel about the fact that Tha Carter V is coming out soon. If you believe what Weezy says, the record is ready to go, like right now. Why we haven’t heard it yet? Here’s why, explained by the man himself: “Man, I just don’t want to put it out the wrong way. Honestly, man, I can do what I want honestly at any time. The fans deserve it to be right and that’s how it’s gonna be. I’ma make sure it’s right. I can drop whatever I want to drop. I keep dropping whatever I want to drop. But I’m not gonna give ’em Carter V the wrong way.” – how TF can you give an album the wrong way? WTF is this even supposed to mean!? *crickets chirp*

mother! (that's how it's 'styled' - no capital letter)
The end of summer isn’t too depressing if we start thinking about all the great movies coming out in the next few months, first up on my 'can't fuckin wait' list is mother!. The plot isn’t that clear and the trailer isn’t shading any light, but I honestly couldn’t care less what this movie is actually about. Only knowing that is directed by Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan & Requiem for a Dream) and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Ed Harris, Michelle Pfeiffer and Kristen Wiig (hopefully she’s the comic relief) is a certainty this movie will be fucking amazing. Aronofsky was also reported saying “Most people, after they see the film, they don’t even wanna look at me” – EEEK!
Ready to go back to the Upside Down?
Stranger Things season 2 will be out for us to enjoy on Netflix on October 27th and the 3rd season is already be confirmed to be happening by The Duffer Brothers, and a fourth season too… kinda. The creators said it will be “a four-season thing and then out”. Ross Duffer also told in an interview that in the third season “They’re going to have to get the fuck out of this town”...they who? The kids we all learned to love or the focus will shift to another group? Fuck knows! There’s only so many shenanigans this bunch can get themselves into without having to repeat a grade.
Robert Eggers have been pretty quiet since directing one of the most divisive films of 2016, but behind the scene he’s been busy working on rebooting the classic Nosferatu, the 1922 silent film since 2015. I'm not usually a fan of reboots and remakes, but when a film is 100 years old, maybe a little jazz up wont hurt no one. But do you want to know what the icing on the cake is? Anya Taylor-Joy is gonna be in it! The girl that wanted to ‘live deliciously’ in The VVitch teamed up once again with the man that made her famous, even though she has a pretty full schedule these days as she is currently filming the X-Men film New Mutants and will also be in the Split and Unbreakable sequel Glass.
Tom DeLonge might not be part of Blink-182 anymore, but as we all know, he hasn’t been just ‘fucking dogs in the ass’ the whole time, quite the opposite, Tom is been pretty busy with a lot of (not so gross) projects . Yesterday an acoustic EP called We Don’t Need To Whisper came out, featuring 4 fan favourite tracks of Angels and Airwaves. Sounds like a nice treat for fans of the Blink-182 founder, that he might be gone from one of my favourite bands, but he’s definitely never going to be forgotten.
It’s with a heavy heart that I must report that the Mass Effect franchise is dead, it was put down earlier this week by EA and Bioware after sales, reviews and actual player numbers were poor for Mass Effect Andromeda . Originally there was to be many DLC’s and expansions planned as well as an eventual sequel, but all of these have been scrapped. Personally I loved the game, true it was a rehash of the original (which I reviewed HERE) but it added a few more elements and changed things up with a new galaxy. There is already talk of a reboot at some point in the future, but that will be a long time down the road, the classics will have to keep us occupied.

A$AP Ferg just released a new project that he's calling a mixtape but its for sale and seems more like an album to me. The first joint of Still Striving is a killer track with a hardcore beat called "Eastcoast Remix" and it features some of the best rappers in the game including A$AP Rocky, Busta Rhymes, Dave East, French Montana, Rick Ross and it ends with an MC from the West, Snoop D O Double G.
