Congratulations on getting through yet another week, it’s been a big one for us here, not only have we dropped 3 reviews, I get to hang out at Olympia at the London Film and Comic Convention, but more on that later, let's do this.
Here it is, the must see film.
Wednesday saw Joseph joined the double R ranks and he kicked things off in style with a review on the must see film of the moment, Dunkirk. He approached it from a History perspective and in my opinion, absolutely killed it. Read it for yourself HERE.
Netflix will soon take over the world.
Next Mags shares to the world her love to the world of Okja, a South Korean movie that is financed by Netflix, kicked arse at Cannes Film Festival and touched our hearts here at Ronon’s Reviews. We can’t say enough awesomesauce things about Okja, read Mags’ thoughts HERE.
5 Tracks of NIN gold.
Then only just yesterday we had my short review for a short EP, Add Violence by NIN, which is part of a trilogy set to be finished up by the end of the year. You can check out what I thought HERE.
This really surprises no one.
We start the news with a laugh this week, The Emoji Movie has broken the internet and critics alike with recording the lowest ever score. When you Google it you are bombarded with massively negative reviews, it really did tank hard. Fear not, we won't touch this thing with a ten foot barge pole, Mags cringes every time it's even mentioned.
I will watch anything this man makes.
Netflix is going to get a hell of a lot better next year after their announcement on Tuesday, commissioning Matt Groening to create a new animated series. The new show will be called Disenchantment and will be solely aimed at adults. Set in a comedic fantasy kingdom and will be about “life and death, love and sex, and how to keep laughing in a world full of suffering and idiots, despite what the elders and wizards and other jerks tell you” according to Groening. I can’t wait to see this.
I know I bang on a bit about GTA on here, but this is huge and I can’t miss out sharing this one. Grand Theft Auto VI is currently under development, this originally came out when an actor for hire had placed ‘Motion Capture’ for GTA VI on his CV which was found online earlier this week. Interestingly Rockstar has denied the actor is working on VI or even for them, but they never said the game wasn’t being made either. Let’s hope this happens soon.
As I mentioned earlier and on our social media, I am at London Film and Comic Convention which has been a blast so far, plenty of people in cosplay, lots of cool stuff that I need to will myself not to buy. But the highlights so far has to be finally meeting Dave Prowse, Alicia Witt and Mads Mikkelson, Prowse of course is most famous for being the man inside the Darth Vader suit during the original trilogy of Star Wars. Witt’s first role was Alia Atreides in David Lynch’s Dune as well as a minor baddie in The Walking Dead. While Mikkelson is massive, he was in Casino Royale, the TV series Hannibal and of course a little more recently Rogue One. Today I will be chasing down the former wrestler know as Edge and The Emperor himself, Ian McDiarmid. Be sure to keep an eye out for more updates as I go.
