Welcome back everyone, I apologize for the lack of content last week, but as we explained over our social media, for the two weekends before we had our awesome family and a friend over and were exhausted. But after a great chilled break we are back to kick some ass.
Thursday saw my look at Royal Blood’s follow up to the world conquering debut album, How Did We Get So Dark?. I really enjoyed the two weeks I spent listening to this one as it was a nice break away from my normal Heavy Metal tastes, in saying that it was still Hard Rock with awesome bass riffs and some on point drumming, if you loved Royal Blood you’ll definitely like this, check it out HERE.
Mags Spoiler Free Review on the last Ring movie: Rings.
Mags had been waiting for months to see the latest of the American Ring franchise which came out earlier this year, Rings. But it seems the poor girl waited in vain as the film was a bit of a let down for her, it had a few moments but ultimately proves that Hollywood will try to wring blood from a stone. See her full review HERE before watching it for yourself.
Out with the New and in with the Old.
Even though this technically happened the previous week, people are still talking about it and it is massive. The upcoming Han Solo standalone film has lost its directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller due to having different creative visions than that of the higher ups in Lucasfilm. From what I’ve heard the principal filming is done but production still has scheduled reshoots in the coming months. After a few days, it was announced Ron ‘Richie Cunningham' Howard will take over, the man has the rep but I’m still unsure about this, time will tell though. The still untitled Han Solo movie will be released the 25th of May of 2018.
HYPE HYPE HYPE!
Remember the old Child's Play movies? Well get ready for more as a trailer dropped just a few days ago of the latest, Cult of Chucky. Even though I’ve only ever seen the first film, once, this doesn’t seem as campy as they were just before Curse and looks really good. Check out the trailer here and let us know what you think. Cult of Chucky will be released straight to DVD, Blu-Ray and streaming services from October 8th this year.
The brilliant minds behind Sherlock (the British one with Benedict Cumberbatch) are currently developing a new Dracula series. Since the news of this only broke recently and it’s in very early stages of production information is extremely thin at the moment. Currently there are no names attached to star, nor whether the show will be set in present day or not. All we do know is Sherlock writers Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffatt (who also was the showrunner on the first six seasons of the new Dr Who) will team up again. Even though we know next to nothing I’m still keen.
Who will be watching the Watchmen? Me that's who!
Continuing with announcements of new series, we will soon have Watchman to look forward to. The Alan Moore comic has proven to be massively popular over the years, even getting a Zack Snyder film in 2009 which I thought was pretty good, but have been told by comic aficionados it was disappointing. But HBO, who will be needing something to fill the huge hole left from Game of Thrones, has seen the other networks enjoying good ratings with their superhero shows and wants a slice of that cake. HBO has done really well recently with their programming so I have high hopes for this one, who doesn’t love a bunch of flawed heroes?

Wubba Lubba Dub Dub!
It's finally motherfucking official. I will admit Cartoon Network has made me sweat, the rumours of bust ups and cancellations were always playing on my mind, but all the information about season 3 of Rick and Morty hit the web on Thursday with the release date of 30 July. That’s not even that far away, no long wait for us, check the trailer here and tell me that doesn’t look piss funny. Good things have finally come to those who wait…. IT'S PICKLE RICK!!!!!!!!!!
A few months back Mags and I watched the first series of American Crime Story (yes, made by the same dudes as American Horror Story), which told the dramatized events of the OJ Simpson trial. We loved it and were hooked, binge watching all we could. It turns out we weren’t the only ones loving it as the second season is well on the way with production started back in April and set for an early 2018 release. This time around we see the details surrounding the assassination of Gianni Versace, while a 3rd is already planned and will deal with hurricane Katrina.
Did they whitewash another anime? Definitely. Will Death Note be awesome? I can only hope so.
Along time ago I said to anyone who would listen that Willem Dafoe would make an awesome Joker, his ability to project insanity and intensity would have been epic. Sadly, it never happened, but he will voice Ryuk, the Shinigami (a God of Death) in the Netflix adaptation of Death Note. The full trailer just came out and it's looking better than I expected. Still no real look at the Death God but you can hear him and fuck does he sound menacing. If this show turns out to be shit I’ll still be watching just for Dafoe’s voice acting…. Did I mention he would have been one hell of a Joker?
Back in April I reported that Nintendo had stopped manufacturing the NES Classic console, I then went on to speculate that they would probably go on to make the SNES Classic. And…. they are, score one for me. Like last year's model it will be tiny (RICK!) and preloaded with 30 classic games including Star Fox 2 which was never released back in the day. Nintendo has confirmed they will manafacture more than they did the NES Classic (1 and a half million units for the whole world) but will cease production at the end of the year. Rumour has it they will cost £70 (US$ 100) and will be out on the 29th of September, Argos over here in the UK started taking ore orders Thursday and was sold out in a few hours, so if your going to try for one, good luck.
Written by Dan, who if you wanna buy him a Christmas present, a Classic Snes would be awesomesauce.
Track of the Week Handpicked by Derek V AKA Norman Voorhees:
After years of leaving his fans anticipating something new from him Tyler, the Creator has finally dropped a new song and it features his brother from another mother ASAP Rocky. The song is called "Who Dat Boy" and the video is killer, of course from the GolfWang General I wouldn't expect anything less.
