The album Threat to Survival is Shinedown’s continuation of great studio albums, starting back in 2008 with The sound of Madness their latest offering continues the trend and shows the Jacksonville 4 piece are by no means done.
Released globally on the 18th of September, the album contained some standout tracks including the two singles released earlier. “State of my Mind” is one of the early track listings that sticks out with its easy on the ear lyrics and beat driven sound. The hard-hitting and forceful “Outcast” is another standout track and shows the band intends to last the test of time and will never give up. Finally “Thick as Thieves” really shines out as an emotionally driven song heavy with meaningful lyrics echoing long lost lovers, it’s hard not to let your mind wander back over the years.
To sum up Shinedown has released a huge follow up to 2012’s Amaryllis and this album ticks all the boxes for me. Not once did i ever want to skip over any track, each kept me hooked from start to finish and wanting more. Each of the eleven tracks is its own story to be heard and enjoyed. The boys from Jacksonville have done it again and don’t look like slowing down, I can’t wait for them to come back to London before heading to the studio for another massive release. Top work boys.
