In recent years I’ve come to appreciate Lynch’s style, and am well aware that his films pretty much set the bar in terms of thought provoking cinema; and are for the most part, divisive. So leading up to the premiere of season 3, I kept wondering, “Will we experience a more cohesive presentation by Lynch in this revival?” No. The answer is HELL NO. More to the point, if you are not familiar with Twin Peaks or Lynch’s style, then stop reading and load your queue with at least three Lynch films; anything from Eraserhead up to Mulholland Dr. (also of course, Twin Peaks S1 & S2 along with the prequel film Fire Walk with Me). Otherwise, you may as well be a lost entity in The Black Lodge (TBL)– So if that Twin Peaks reference just flew over your head, then that’s a big red flag.
